10/19/2012

MicroAquarium Blog

I made my MicroAquarium on October 16, 2012. First I obtained a MicroAquarium. Then cleaned the blue substance of the lid. We used the colored dot stickers to act as identification. First dot was for the lab section, second dot was my table, and third dot was my seat number at my table. Next I filled up my MicroAquarium with the water source of my choice.I chose water source number 3. That was Carter Mill Park at spring source. The address is Carter Mill Road, Knox Co.  There was Tennessee Partial shade exposure. The coordinates for the water source are N36 01.168 W83 42.832. It was collected on October 9, 2011. In the MicroAquarium one third of the water was the mud on bottom of the water container, two thirds was the middle and surface water in the container. Then I added Plant A, Amblestegium, a moss and Plant B, Utricularia gibba, a flowering and a carnivorous plant. I observed on October 16, 2012 one organism in the MicroAquarium. I observed an ostracod also known as a seed shrimp. It is a crustacean that is single celled. It would move around the MicroAquarium in a circular motion.
